In South Florida, which has been designated a High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ), almost every home has at least one or more of these features that would qualify for some type of insurance discount. In order to get those insurance discounts, you need to have a Wind Mitigation Inspection performed to see if your home has certain features, and even if you don’t have impact glass or hurricane shutters you may still qualify for an insurance discount.
